Winter Season Continues

KobiThe winter season is rolling on even with the dark nights and cold weather really setting in. A few boring club notices before we get on to the congrats!

Our last training session in December will be Tuesday 17th and this will be our Christmas training night, where we will play a few games and have a few cakes! We'll be back at training again on Tuesday 7th January 2014.

On to the well-deserved congratulations - the results have been rolling in!

We said it wouldn't be long until Sue and Taz were winning, and they proved us right with a 1st in G1 Jumping at Hare'n'Hounds Halloween show! They followed it up a month later with a 1st in G1 Agility, putting them neatly into Grade 2 for the new year!

Emma and Kobi got their first clear round, and both are looking more and more confident with every run.

JessHare'n'Hounds Halloween was Emma and Jess's last G3 show. They went out with a bang, winning another 1st in G3 Agility, as well as a 2nd in Jumping and 4th in G3 Agility! Just to follow up those fantastic results, at their first two G4 shows, Emma and Jess picked up a 3rd and a 6th in G4 Jumping and then promptly picked up a 1st in G4 Agility, moving them up to Grade 5!

Emma and Diva have been out at Hare'n'Hounds Christmas show this weekend, no rosettes but some excellent runs. Fingers crossed for the last show of 2013 in a few weeks ...

Susan and Emma have also been out and about, a double day at Hare'n'Hounds Christmas show leaving them with a 3rd and two 2nds in C1-3 classes. Great results!

Finally, Leanne and Dylan picked up a 4th in G6-7 Agility at Wilmslow DTC

We just have a few more shows on the calendar for 2013, and then it's into the New Year with a bang!

Catch-Up Congrats!

It's been a busy six weeks at All Four Paws, and we've been a bit remiss about congratulating some of our members, especially since they've been doing so well!

Leanne and Dylan picked up a 7th in the Dog Vegas/First Contact G6 Qualifier at Agility Nuts, giving them a Reserve Finalist place for the 2014 Final.

Emma and Diva took some time off in September but came back with a bang at Lune Valley, grabbing a fantastic 4th in G1-4 Jumping.

Emma and Jess have been chasing the magic 1st place all summer, and with plenty of top-5 placings under their belt, we had a feeling it wasn't far off. They picked up that all-important 1st at South Durham in G3 Agility, which takes them to Grade 4. Fantastic news, and followed up promptly with a 2nd in G3 Agility at Wigton!

Sue and Taz have also been edging closer to their first clear round all summer. They picked up two 1sts at South Durham in G1 Agility, unfortunately both with 5f but it won't be long 'til they're out of G1, as they went clear in the C1-7 ABC class at Wigton and came 8th.

We're now firmly into the indoor winter season and are looking forward to the months ahead. We also have a few announcements coming up!

August Updates!

EmmaSusan and Emma were at Dog Vegas again on Sunday, and with another win in the 1-3 Jumping class, they are now Grade 3! Fantastic news and we don't think they'll be hanging around on Grade 3 for long.
We also wish them both the best of luck at Letchworth this weekend in the ABC.

Training Update

We are now full again in all our classes and don't anticipate any spaces opening up until the New Year. We do run a waiting list, but with those who have either no prior agility experience, or have new dogs, we strongly recommend the Agility Skills classes we run in association with North K9.

UKA Sutton Weavers

All Four Paws had a great day this weekend at Sutton Weavers!

Leanne and Dylan picked up a 2nd in Senior Jumping and a 1st in Champ Steeplechase, great results!

Susan and Emma continued their brilliant form, with a 1st in Beginners Jumping, an NQ 1st in Beginners Gamblers, and a 3rd in Beginners Steeplechase. Can't keep this little Beagle down!

Susan and Eddie ran in Nursery, where Eddie did his first Aframe and Dogwalk faultlessly, despite an E later on the tough course.

Nicolle and Roxy also made their debut; Roxy has not been the easiest dog, she finds travelling very stressful and is very sensitive to any nerves or anxiety that Nicolle might be feeling. It's not easy to banish the nerves at your first competition, but this team ran a beautiful NFC clear round in Beginners Steeplechase. We're very proud of both of them!

Leanne and Rio should have been competing at this show as well, but unfortunately Rio has sliced her pad open. We wish her a speedy recovery!

A Final July Update!

Susan and Emma were off at Dog Vegas this weekend, where they promptly picked up another 1st in the C1-2 Jumping, and a 1st in the G1-2 Agility with 5f. That's a 1st place from every KC show they've attended so far, and they just need one more jumping win until Grade 3 (or one clear round agility win!).

Susan and Eddie also got a great clear round in the Anysize Helter Skelter!

July Round Up

The hot weather hasn't deterred our A4P competitors from their shows!

At UKA Dig It, Geoff and Charlie had their first show for nearly 12months, and picked up a 3rd in a very competitive Beginners Steeplechase class.

Leanne and Dylan picked up a 1st in Senior Jumping and a 2nd in Champ Steeplechase.

At the same show, Leanne's young dog Rio made her debut, as did Geoff's youngster Sue. Both did fantastically!

Eddie
A few weeks later and we were back in action at Empingham, a weekend of mixed results! Susan and Emma were the only ones to grab some rosettes, at their second ever KC show and their first Grade 2 outing. They came 1st in the G1-2 Jumping, and then a 2nd in the C1-3 Jumping! Won't be long until these two are out of Grade 2 as well.

Empingham also saw Susan's young dog Eddie do his first run in Allsorts Jumping. He did his mum Emma proud with a brilliant run!

A Quick Update

We are back at training this Tuesday 18th June at the normal class times. We hope everyone enjoyed their week off!

A quick additional congratulations to one of our trainers, Leanne, who attended the UKA L1 Judges course last week and is now accredited to judge at UKA shows.

North Derbyshire

EmmaGreat news from North Derbyshire's lovely show at Osmaston this weekend!

Susan and Emma headed to their first KC show, and after a super run in their first class - the Medium Olympia Qualifier - they promptly went clear in the G1-2 Agility to come 1st! Not only that but they were the fastest time from both grades by some distance.

This win takes them to Grade 2, and we're sure they won't be there for very long.

Best of luck to everyone planning to compete at UKA Sutton Weavers this weekend.

Please remember there is no training this week - June 11th - but we'll be back on the 18th as normal.

Success at Wigton

DivaJust two results from the beautiful Cumbrian show Wigton this year, but both important ones!

Emma and Diva continued to build on their recent success with some beautiful runs all weekend, including a clear round in the G3-7 Agility, which resulted in a fantastic 2nd place! It won't be long before this pair are out of Grade 3, and we're really excited about seeing them progress.

Leanne and Dylan had plenty of clear rounds but in the competitive Grade 6 classes only managed one placing. It just happened to be a 9th in the First Contact G6 Qualifier, which earns them a Reserve spot for the Final at Dog Vegas!

We're looking forward to the rest of the summer being as successful. A special good luck shout-out to our students making their debuts at either UKA or KC shows in the next few weeks!

Lincoln & UKA Dig It

A little late with the congratulations, but better late than never: big congrats to Emma and Diva for their first clear round at Lincoln in the G3 Agility! A very respectable time as Emma held Diva's contacts, which eventually put them 21st overall in a very big and competitive class.

Emma and Diva followed up their first clear round with another at UKA Dig It, and with it, a 1st in Beginners Steeplechase!

Leanne and Dylan also dropped in at UKA in the Senior classes, electing to train both the Agility and Power & Speed. They brought home a 1st in the Senior Jumping.

We are definitely in the summer season now for competitions and are excited to see so many of our All Four Paws students are either looking forward to their first shows or are continuing their competition journeys. Good luck everyone!

UKA D5 Agility

Leanne and Dylan are hitting their stride again, picking up some good placings in the competitive Senior classes, picking up a 3rd in Senior Jumping and a 3rd in Senior Steeplechase I, as well as some all important Q points. Dylan gained his final points toward progression at this show, and will now move to Champ Steeplechase!

Jackie and Gibbs were at their first show, and despite some nerves they had an amazing day! No clear rounds but two fantastic runs from this partnership, and we're looking forward to seeing them out and about this season.

Start of the Outdoor Season!

DivaWe are finally back outdoors for agility! The first outdoor show of the summer season is traditionally at Easter, and despite the freezing temperature, we had A4P dogs and handlers out again this year.

Leanne and Dylan had a great return to competition this weekend after a long break due to injury. Dylan picked up numerous placings, including a 6th in Grade 6 Jumping.

Emma and Diva also had some fantastic runs, edging ever closer to their first clear round.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone out on the circuit again this year, including some of our newer dogs and handlers making their debuts!

March Update!

Wyre: G1-2 Agility TazMarch is always a very busy month for us, and this year is no exception!

We've been to Crufts supporting our competing friends, have an exciting training seminar to attend, and are away again at Easter competing. Not only that, but we have the amazing upcoming Dog Radical seminar to promote, as well as teaching at all our usual classes on Tuesdays, additional one-to-one classes, and assisting with North K9's Agility Foundation classes on Saturdays. Plus we all have day jobs as well!

Unfortunately, this means that we've been a bit slow responding to emails. This will probably continue for the next few weeks, but please don't worry if you haven't heard from us, we will get back to you! In the meantime, we can only offer our apologies for the delay.

In the meantime, we'd like to say congratulations to all our agility dogs who were also in the breed ring at Crufts (we like our multi-talented dogs!), and best of luck to everyone is out competing in the next few weeks, especially those who are seeking the all important Qualifying placings at Wyre and over the Easter break.

Winter Update

It's been quiet for our competitive teams this winter, with canine injuries and the unpredictable weather keeping us from shows. The run up to Easter is looking equally quiet, although we will be supporting friends competing at Crufts, and travelling to a few seminars in March. We are very pleased to note that during our break from competitions, everyone at training has being working fantastically. We're really looking forward to seeing everyone out at the summer competitions this year, especially some of our new dogs and handlers who are bravely picking out their first competitions.

A lonely result but a very well deserved congratulations to Susan and Emma for their 5th in the Pre-Comp Agility class at NAWS this weekend! A great result, especially in such a big class, and a clear in the jumping as well.

Finally, don't forget our upcoming behaviour seminar hosted by Cat Clark! Places are filling up, so if you want a seat you need to get in touch!

Dog Radical Seminar April 2013

We are very pleased to announce that canine behaviourist and trainer Cat Clark will be returning to Huddersfield for another Dog Radical seminar in April!

This seminar will include the basics of body language and the foundation to help understand sequences & read dogs effectively. Cat will talk about the most common individual signals, what they mean and what they aim to achieve. Cat will also discuss methods on developing social skills, sequencing signals, aggression and will look at signals within learning.

Cat presented her seminar here last year and it was a very successful event. If you want a place, please book quickly as we're expecting this seminar to fill up very soon!
